Greta is perhaps one of our most complex and intriguing show hosts. "I'm just naturally curious about everything," says Greta. And by everything, she means EVERYTHING. This shy-by-nature show host can include painter, carver, jewellery designer and collector of dragonflies to her seemingly endless list of credits

A native Torontonian, Greta was always a very shy child and could usually be found with her nose buried deep inside a book. "I was so painfully shy that when I was in my early 20's I decided to enrol in modelling school to try to break out of my shell." Greta didn't just break out of her shell, she came bursting out onto the Toronto entertainment scene working as an on-air radio broadcaster and then owning her own talent agency which included The Shopping Channel as one of her clients. "They would often call me looking for hosts or for models," says Greta but it wasn't until her friend, Richard Nester, offered to put together Greta's audition tape did she ever consider applying for a host position herself.

Greta joined The Shopping Channel in 1997 and has never looked back. She loves working with all the guests and celebrities and says that even the little mishaps are fun. "It's a very human show," says Greta. "We all make little mistakes but we just laugh about them and then move on."

Greta is a very creative person and has enjoyed painting, sewing and creating jewellery from a very young age but her real passion now is in carving and painting walking sticks. "I know it's an unusual thing but I find myself picking up long sticks when I'm out walking and I bring them home," explains Greta. "Right now I have about 30 sticks in my collection waiting to be carved when I can find the time."

Time may be the one thing that Greta is short on with a busy career, plenty of hobbies and lots of family and friends. With a married daughter living in Vancouver and three grandsons, Greta makes sure that she finds time to visit them 3-4 times a year and they all come to Toronto to visit her every summer.
