PERSONALITY BIOGRAPHY
Kellie

Although she claims she’s boring and ordinary, model Kellie is anything but!

Born and raised in the small town of Simcoe , Ontario , Kellie, a self-proclaimed “spoiled” only child, grew up surrounded by lots of friends and cousins, but sadly, she never had a pet. “I really wanted a dog,” laughs Kellie, “so, when I was little, I always used to steal my uncle’s dog and bring him home!”

After completing high school, Kellie headed off to Toronto to pursue her lifelong dream of becoming a model. While most models reach the pinnacle of their careers before they hit their 20’s, Kellie found the exact opposite was true for her. “Being only 5’6” tall, conventional modeling wasn’t really an option for me,” explains Kellie. “Ironically, my career got better as I got older, especially for advertising where I often get jobs portraying a “real person” or a mom.”

In 1992, while working with a friend at her modelling agency in Toronto , Kellie answered an ad for models at The Shopping Channel and was quickly offered a job. “They asked me to start on Labour Day,” remembers Kellie, “and I just assumed that it was a mistake. Jobs don’t start on holidays!” Kellie soon learned what every viewer knows, The Shopping Channel is on air everyday with the exception of Christmas Day.

Kellie says that she’s often recognized around town and she finds it very flattering. “I’ve also received some interesting letters from viewers,” says Kellie. “Most people want to offer advice on my hair or make-up but I have had some people actually try to set me up with their sons!”

No need to set Kellie up with anyone. Kellie and long time fiancé, Michael, have been engaged since 1993! “I know, it’s hard to believe but we figure, if it’s working why change things?”

When Kellie isn’t working she can usually be found up in Simcoe visiting with her mother who she affectionately refers to as her “best friend”. “We love to gab, shop and eat pretty much anything that’s fattening like pizza, ice cream and especially those really yummy chip truck fries!”

As a model at The Shopping Channel, Kellie doesn’t get to talk on the air. “That doesn’t bother me,” says Kellie. “Being an only child I was used to being quiet a lot of the time. Oh, and I also play a mean game of solitaire!”
