The Shopping Channel: Who was the most influential woman in your life?

Carol Brodie: The most influential woman in my life is my mother; she taught me how to be a lady and also how to speak softly, but carry a big stick.

The Shopping Channel: Thinking about the challenges and opportunities women face today, what one piece of advice would you give a young women today?

Carol Brodie: Balance is my biggest challenge... Balancing my many roles--career, mother, daughter, sister, colleague, friend, wife... there never seems to be enough time!

In today's competitive environment, women have challenges, but also opportunities. I suggest that each woman hone in her passion! If you are doing what you LOVE, it is not work, it is fun! And having fun gives you confidence! If you believe in yourself and love what you are doing, observers will take notice and success will follow.

Carol Brodie: My wildest dream... I have many. But I would love to host my own talk show.

Carol Brodie: We could change the world if we considered others as we consider ourselves. If we follow our hearts and act from a place of love, respect, generosity and integrity. It sounds so easy... but too many people just think about themselves. I believe in karma... It is quite powerful!
