About Grace Riley
Grace Riley was born into a creative family with a history in the visual arts. Her father was a successful commercial artist at a prominent advertising agency in Hartford, whom emerged into opening his own advertising firm. As her father progressed in his career, she discovered what artistic talent was and learned from him what it took to be a true professional. Grace, at that young age, realized that her calling was to be an artist just like her father.
The first incident Grace had with drawing was while reading the inside of a matchbook cover. It said, 'Draw this pirate and unlock your hidden talents.' Out of curiosity, she picked up a pencil, drew the pirate and has been drawing ever since. Grace spent almost 20 years in advertising for multi-national companies. This introduced her to the world of computers, after which immediately replaced her pencil with a mouse.
Grace's inspiration comes from many aspects of life. She always says: "Shapes and colour open the floodgates to my creativity. My daughter, my sisters and my friends inspire me. Thoughts of my father inspire me the most."
