About Silicone

Food-grade silicone has quickly risen in popularity in kitchens everywhere and it's no surprise why. Its inherent nonstick qualities matched by its flexibility make silicone a wonderful tool to have in the kitchen. You can now pop the cake out of its pan and have muffins come out without prying. It's easy to use and has a number of great features, including:

1) Performance.
Silicone stops conducting the heat as soon as you remove it from the oven so there is no over-baking. Silicone is stick resistant so that baked goods release easily. Silicone is flexible so that it is easier to release items, no matter what shape.

2) Durability.
Silicone will not rust or dent if dropped.

3) Easy storage.
Silicone is crushable and bounces back to its original shape. It can be folded up into a container or even a shoe box and stored efficiently.

4) Easy cleanup.
Silicone can be put in the dishwasher, but it cleans up very well in the sink with a soapy sponge. Difficult spots to clean can be inverted inside out for easy cleaning.

5) No need to grease.
Silicone baking items do not need to be greased like other pans. They have an inherent nonstick quality and do not require greasing.

DOES NOT GRILL, DOES NOT COOK EVENLY...

Comments about Culinary Distinction Silicone Grill/Panini Maker:

Does not perform as expected. Foods either do not cook or burn on the outside and remain raw inside. Does not grill or brown items. Cannot use this to steam as the floppy silicone cover does not sit properly / seal the top of the base container. Disappointing.

Works for Me.

Comments about Culinary Distinction Silicone Grill/Panini Maker:

This cooks fast and the food turns out just as described. Cooks Chicken, and Fish beautifully.
Hamburgers etc; and vetables. I have 3 of these. I spray the lid and bottom to prevent sticking and it always nicely browns the top of the food. The food turns out tender and juicy. I think some people maybe forget to put it in the microwave for 2 minuets before cooking the food.
