What it is:
The Apallo cane is an example of current technology addressing the issues of outdated cane design. Created by orthopedic surgeon Dr. Palo, the Apallo mobility assistance technology addresses the hazards and limitations related to outdated walking device models. This helps provide updated technology that allows a full cycle of mobility, from sitting to standing to walking. Late night injuries, increased falls, chronic muscle strain injuries and more inspired a design evolution that resulted in an end product that helps increase maneuverability and safety for its users.

What it does:
The cane’s primary handle is soft foam and placed at a slight downward angle to increase leverage benefits and reduce soft tissue injury commonly found in cane users accrued from repetitive movement and strain, as well as fall risks.

The first of its kind, the Apallo cane features a second handle located below the upper foam handle, to safely assist the user when rising from a sitting position. The Apallo cane’s lower handle is ergonomically designed for both comfort and security with a soft grip, slip-proof handle.

The cane height is fully adjustable. Many cane-related injuries have been linked to incorrect cane fitting in relation to the user’s size. It is recommended that users either seek the advice of a physician to assure correct height requirements for size and weight.

In addition to the angled arm and second handle, Apallo canes feature a high-intensity LED light easily accessed for nighttime maneuverability. The Apallo technology’s high intensity light illuminates a pathway-width swath of light that prevents injury at any location, be it a late-night bathroom trip or navigating an unlevel sidewalk on an evening stroll. The increased illumination without having to reach for a light should helps decrease accidents and injury of nocturia patients.

What is included:
• Apallo Cane (measurements: cane: opened 36-1/2"H, closed 31-1/2"H; handle 7"L x 1-1/4" diameter; 500 lbs maximum weight capacity)

Different Type of Cane

By Sue

from MISSISSAUGA

Silver Reviewer

Purchased the cane when it was the Showstopper. Thought it would be great for getting out of chair. Does not work too well if you are trying to get out of a recliner; must be a regular average height chair. The light works well if you have to use it at night to get out of bed.

SO THANKFUL FOR THIS CANE

By Squirt

from Pickering, Ontario

Silver Reviewer

I am partially disabled and use a cane in my home and for short walks. I have chronic injuries and have to use a walker and then a scooter or wheelchair. This cane is wonderful. I have chronic neck problems from surgery due to an auto accident. Canes have been painful for me. But not anymore. Thank you so to The Shopping Channel and the Doctor and his partner who invented this cane. I have a lot less pain when getting up and down from sitting, and walking is easier too. Please buy this cane if you have chronic pain. You won't be sorry.

Great idea

By plais

The cane itself is very strong and has become my link to freedom, especially during this last spell of snow and ice. And the light would be a great idea if it worked. Unfortunately, it is poorly designed. It needs an on/off switch instead of just turning the light housing. The light will turn itself on when unwanted and then not work when you do want it. I'm keeping the cane because it helps me get around, but don't buy it for the light because you'll be very disappointed. Hopefully, the company making them will recognize the design flaw and make the very simple modifications necessary to make the light work, and then send a new one to those of us who bought the one that doesn't work. That would make this cane exceptional.

Purchased two of these one for my brother (who has MS) and the other for me. Great product however the light on both canes are not working (part missing?), so disappointed! We are returning them for exchange.

Hope no one else have a problem with getting the light to work.

First Impression was the Wrong Impressio

By Fred

from Pincourt, Québec

When I saw the picture of the cane my initial reaction was "this is a gimmick". Well, I convinced myself to try it and now I am most happy to be gimmicky! The second handle is amazingly useful. I have arthritic knees and getting up or down from a chair is [I should say was] very difficult. With the Apallo Cane it is a relative snap! Great idea - very practical! My only negative comment is that within a week or two I had to replace both rubber tips on the bottom of the canes. The metal tube literally cut through the rubber and exposed the sharp edges to our new laminate floor. Solution was very simple, I whipped off the bottoms of a couple of old canes that had metal inserts [just a washer-like piece of metal and the problem was solved. I would certainly recommend this to anyone who truly needs canes due to knee flexibility problems!

An absolute MUST if you need a cane!!

By Edukate44

from Vaughan

Purchased this as a gift for my mother and it has relieved the pain in her shoulder that she was expeiencing from use of a regular cane. The two handle lift system design of the Apallo cane is the difference! The design is brilliant and the light feature is an added bonus!! Best gift you can give to someone in need!

genius idea

By Carol

from Barrie

The lift assist handle is genius! There have been times when it was extremely hard to stand up, so when I saw this cane I wanted to try it. I am very glad I did. It is worth the price for this feature alone. The one drawback is that this cane will not hook over the edge of a table or chair. I find that using the wrist strap for this solves the problem.

This cane is an absolutely wonderful product. It is so useful with the second handle to assist in getting up out of any seat, even low ones; then you can convert to the higher level.

Why didn't someone think of this sooner?

By Maggie

from Bowmanville,Ontario

Purchased this for my husband when it was a daily Showstopper item. He loves it, especially the second handle that allows him to hoist himself up when sitting. The light on the handle is also very useful when looking for something in a dark area such as a movie theatre. We would highly recommend this for anyone who must use a cane.
