Ideal for both day and evening looks, you can wear this exceptional pair with casual pieces or to a black tie event. Wear the diamond and gemstone studs during the day, and then transform your look by night when you attach the dramatic pear shaped portion of the earring. The Four Cs of Diamonds

There are four main factors that affect the value of a diamond, commonly referred to as “the 4 Cs.” The cut, colour, clarity and carat weight all contribute to the rarity, and therefore price, of a diamond.

CUT:
The cut is a diamond's most important characteristic. The way a diamond is cut affects how it handles light and has great influence on the diamond's overall sparkle. The closer to ideal proportions that a diamond is cut, the more light will reflect back to the eye, resulting in the fire and brilliance that make diamonds so beautiful and so popular. Shallow or deep cuts allow light to seep out of the bottom or escape out of the side.

COLOUR:
Diamonds with absolutely no colour are extremely rare. Colour actually refers to a diamond's lack of colour with D being perfectly colourless. The subtle differences in colour among most gem-quality diamonds are due to traces of other elements that were present during the diamond’s formation millions of years ago. Diamonds are rated on a letter scale indicating the degree of yellowish tinge from D all the way to Z, which is markedly yellowy. E and F are colourless to the naked eye, and G, H and I will appear very nearly colourless, particularly in a gold setting. After cut, colour is generally considered the second most important characteristic when selecting a diamond.

While the fire of perfectly colourless diamonds will never go out of style, modern jewellers and jewellery lovers have discovered the incredible beauty of coloured diamonds in gorgeous shades of blue, green, pink, chocolate and even black, and may people prize yellow (or "canary") diamonds for their luminous colour.

CLARITY:
Diamonds usually contain "inclusions", which are small markers of how the diamond formed deep within the earth. Very few diamonds are without inclusions, and such stones are termed "flawless." Inclusions do not necessarily affect beauty, but they do affect value. Many imperfections are microscopic and those with the least and smallest imperfections receive the highest clarity grades.

Diamond Clarity

FL, IF Flawless, Internally Flawless: No internal or external inclusions visible under 10X magnification to a trained eye. The most expensive grade. Very rare.
VVS1, VVS2 Very, Very Slightly Included: Inclusions visible only to a trained eye under 10X magnification. Excellent quality.
VS1, VS2 Very Slightly Included: Small inclusions visible with 10X magnification. Not typically visible to the unaided eye.
SI1, SI2 Slightly Included: Varying degrees of small inclusions visible with 10X magnification. A good value.
I1, I2, I3 Included: Flaws may be visible to the naked eye in larger stones.

CARAT WEIGHT:

Carat weight is the term that people are most familiar with. Carat is a measure of the diamond's weight and may not reflect its size. To understand its size, you need to consider the distance across the top of the diamond measured in millimetres and the cut grade. One carat equals 1/5 of a gram, or 1/142 of an ounce. Each carat is divided into 100 points, so a 3/4 carat diamond can also be said to weigh 75 points or .75 carat. As the weight increases, the rarity increases dramatically… and so does its value.
Emmy Award-winning film and television actress Tracey Bregman has thrilled fans with her portrayal of Lauren Fenmore on both “The Young and the Restless” and “The Bold and the Beautiful.” Tracey's extensive acting resume boasts television, telefilm and feature film credits that have garnered her numerous awards and accolades over the years. In addition, Tracey is also an accomplished singer and songwriter.

Sadly Disappointed

By CB

from Winnipeg

I missed out purchasing these Earrings months ago due to a sell out in the green agate so I bought the green agate Pendant instead. The pendant is well made, the colour green is very pleasing to the eye & is lovely! I was pleased to see the return of the Earrings in green agate in April & didn't hesitate to order. Unfortunately they were a huge disappointment upon receipt. One earring has a bent butterfly back and completely slips off the post. I am returning them today. I read the reviews, which were poorly rated & should have trusted my instincts. Quality Control needs a "head's up".

Disappointed-Poor Quality

By KW

from Toronto

I purchased these earings about six months ago in Labradorite and have only worn them about 6 times. The stone broke and fell out today. Won't buy from this line again!

3 x the charm

By Cheese Lady

from Vancouver Island

I ordered these earrings three times. The first time the labradorite was gorgeous and lively, but noticed a broken off bottom, sent them back and got others to replace. The 2nd pair arrived and they were awful. Dull gray and flat, no shine in the stone. Got the 3rd pair, and one earring is Fab, the other one is grayish and not a good match. I decided to keep them because I ran out of time,as I was on a trip when the 3rd pair arrived, and it was past 30 days.
I wear the Fab earring showing, and the dull one behind my hair. Sigh...

oh well

I had huge hopes for these earrings and bought two types: labradorite and smokey. I was very disappointed in the diamonds...it would have been preferable to have diamond cutting and lower price. I was very disappointed and sent both pair back.

Labradorite earrings 2nd review

By Shopsalot

from Edmonton

All Star Reviewer

I had previously given a good rating on these earrings. I had worn them a few times and noticed a crack in the labradorite stone but I thought it was just a natural inclusion. I went to wear the earrings and a large piece of the labradorite stone had fallen out. Such a disappointment. Fortunately I was just under the 30 days and have since sent these back. 3 recent returns on jewelery from tsc not sure if I will purchase jewelery again from tsc. Poor quality control perhaps. Such a waste of money on s/h. Didn't want to exchange and take a chance same thing would happen again.

Great concept, but....

By suess

from Brockville, Ontario

I was so excited when I saw these earrings on TV. The concept is great and Tracey has very creative ideas. When I received the earrings, I was disappointed. Though the settings were nicely done, the stones were dull and actually were different colours. One stone seemed to be shattered on the inside extending outward and that created the really obvious colour differential between both earrings. I really was looking forward to these earrings, but couldn't wear them when they were so different in colour and had to send them back. As I am not familiar with the stone (Labradorite), I was afraid if I ordered them again, the same thing would happen.

Beautiful Earrings

By shfwilf

from Toronto

I bought these in the labradorite and am not disappointed. The iolite studes are fabulous on their own too. They are very lightweight and I had no issues with the posts while on the phone as they are a bit longer. Overall, great look.

Beautiful but Post Bent

By Anne

from Toronto

Silver Reviewer

I purchased the Citrine and Smokey Combination. They are beautiful. I also put the smokey drop on a delicate gold chain, and wear the drop close to my collarbone; so really these earrings are 3 in 1!
My only disappointment was that the post was bent on one of the earrings and consequently the butterfly backing was loose; however, I used one of my own circular back pieces, and the earring holds perfectly.
The only reason I am not giving these earrings a Perfect Rating is because of the bent post and loose fitting butterfly backing.
I wear them a lot and I love how they frame my face; both with the drop and with just the studs.

earrings

By JB

from Brampton

I ordered all 3 pair as I was undecided. Two of them were see through which was not mentioned on air and although I am a fan of Tracey's I don't want her initials with me at all times. The one pair the backing was so loose I was concerned that I would lose them.
