It is different, but beautiful!
from Toronto, Ontario
I bought one ring and the pendant approx half a year ago, but I gave the ring to one of my friend as birthday present. Since that time I was looking for it to get one ring for myself.I read the review which complains against the color, and it is true that this tanzanite is different from the usual ones:my color is grey-lilac-greenish blue.BUT! the color is beautiful! The shape of the ring is elegant and very comfortable to wear! Finally, I have the set of the pendant and the ring!I really like them, as so many other Himalayen gems!
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I love this ring - very pretty!
I don't really understand the poor review, because of all the items I purchased last Winter (and believe me, I spent a small fortune on Himalayan Gems!), this tanzanite ring, and the matching pendant, are actually my favourites! I wear a size 8, and the ring fits me perfectly on my right ring finger, and I personally find that it is very comfortable. I love the hammered pattern on the silver, itself, and love the way the light plays off of it. The stone is bi-colour tanzanite (I don't think it mentions that on the TSC website, but Andrew mentioned it during the shows) - that means that it is not uniform in colour - therefore, perhaps it is not as much of a rich, deep purple as some people are used to. It is true that there is a cloudy effect, but that is one of the things that I like about it. My stones (in both cases) are sort of a greyish-purple/violet on one side and sort of a greyish-blueish colour with a touch of green on the other, with some subdued white crystalline striations (the aforementioned "cloudiness") that to in my opinion make the stones very pretty and very unique, particularly when they move (it reminds me a bit of an amethyst cabochon I had as a kid, which had some white quartz crystals inside). I love these bi-colour tanzanite stones because they match my eyes! I agree that this is not deep purple tanzanite with perfect clarity, but that is what makes it special for me, and that's why I personally LOVE these pieces, and reach for them more often than the more expensive items I've bought from Himalayan Gems. Actually, I really shouldn't write such a positive review, because I truly hope that no-one else buys Andrew's tanzanite - I want it all for myself!!!! :D I think this ring is simply beautiful.
I had my eye on this ring. When I opened the box the stone colour is green - translucent green! it's supposed to be purple/blue tanzanite. Also the sizing is off - far too snug - it may be due to the shield setting. Too bad; it looked so fabulous in the picture; it's going back.
