No Longer a Prisoner in Winter!!
I have been a prisoner in winter for over 5 years, but thanks to Wintertrax I can again leave my house when the weather gets icy. I have M.S. and could go nowhere as soon as there was any ice on the ground. Since receiving these I have worn them constantly, only removing when indoors as recommended. It has made my walking so much safer and better this winter, my husband even comments on how much faster I can get anywhere!! I have broken one spring, but will be buyng more sets for sure. I hope TSC keeps selling them for sure!!
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Good outside but not inside!
I bought trax for everyone in my family and wore mine yesterday and good walking outside but very slippery on my wood floor and when I arrived at the store so I had to take them on in the store. Otherwise I'm not worried while taking my walks outside in the winter since I use a cane and know I will not fall which is a big fear with a disability.
I really like mine
I find these very good. Your foot may still slip a bit but what I find is that your foot slips then stops. Without them on, you know how your foot may slip and fly into the air? Well, for me, that doesn't happen - it's a slight slip but my foot stays on the ground. A friend with hip problems and not as stable on her feet, said she felt unsteady wearing them. I don't even notice them, unless I'm on bare pavement then you can feel them, but that does not make me feel unsteady (and I really shouldn't have them on if the pavement is bare).

Greatest thing since sliced bread!
I have found the WinterTrax easy to apply and remove as required. When wearing them, I have no fear of falling, even on sheer ice. It is good to remember to remove them when going inside if walking on terrazzo or marble floors though as they are slipperier than ice when wearing the WinterTrax. However, carpets and other surfaces, even concrete, do not pose any problems

Not For Winter Runnin
I run outside in the winter and these WinterTrax do not have the endurance to take this activity. When the wire breaks it inbeds into the sole and can ruin it. It might be okay for walking but I would not recommend them for winter outdoor running.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
When WinterTrax were first sold on TSC, I bought 4 pairs as a showstopper and kept one pair for myself. I love them! I prefer the spiral traction verses the "metal studded" traction technology. If you know of someone who works, walks or jogs outside, these are a must in winter time. I highly recommend them for seniors!

Low quality and sub-standard product
I bought this product a few years ago because I slipped on ice and fell while I was 6 1/2 months pregnant. Thinking that the Wintertrax might help prevent that in the future, I ordered 2 pairs. When they arrived in the mail, I immediately tried them on on my boots and one of the straps snapped and broke. Since the S&H was going to cost as much the product itself, I didn't return them. Yeah so they were never worn and they lasted about 2 minutes!!!
