Ionic Pro Value Pack Air Cleaner

The perfect air cleaner. This is the second one that I have bought. It is perfect since you don't need to buy anything like filters, etc.. It is easy to clean and is completely quiet. You don't hear it at all. The air in my home smells so fresh and clean. It is definitely a good buy.

I too had problems with a crackling sound no matter how much I cleaned the unit. I even phoned customer service at Ionic and they had no suggestions. I read Irene's review and did as she suggested. I used a cleaning cloth I had purchased on TSC and cleaned the internal cleaner many, many times and the crackling sound has now stopped. I am very glad to have my Ionic cleaner back in operation as I do love it and find a big difference in the air with it on.

I have been using the Ionic Pro Turbo for at least a couple of years...and I never turn it off ... except when cleaning. Cleaning it is so easy, even for me..and I am 68 years old. I will be getting a second one as soon as I am able to... I want one for living room and 2nd bedroom.

At the first I too had fresh smell and no loud crackling noise. Long story short, I use those "magic cleaning cloths" they sell at TSC to clean the blades in the small and the large unit. Works like a charm, after I discovered that the unit needs to be free of all moisture on the blades; make sure that you clean the ionizing wire more than the 10x recommended in the owner's guide. I make sure that I do not turn the unit on, until the internal wire has been cleaned by moving the internal cleaner up/down, up to 50x or more. Only when the cleaner slides/glides smoothly up and down, to the point that is naturally falls back into place, do I make sure it is pressed down properly, and then turn the unit back on. Since cleaning the ionizing wire steadily but carefully, I've had no further crackling. Just make sure that no water is left on the blades - hence I find the cleaning cloths do a great job, and I seldom use water and soap to clean my unit. PLUS, it takes several weeks now, before they need to be cleaned. Be patient, and keep at it, because the unit will work. The small unit is in my bedroom - works well there too. Would not recommend this unit in a home filled with dogs, or many pets.

I purchased my Ionic Pro over two years ago and have no regrets. What I love about it is that it's quiet, you don't hear it running at all. There is a cracking sound when the stem needs a quick wipe. I use a soft non stactic cloth to give it a good wipe, and the blades while I have it open. I don't soap and water mine every time. I love the fact that I don't have to go out and buy a new filter all the time. That can add up in money with other gadgets. I do smell the fresh air when I walk into my bedroom. Less dust too.

At the start,it worked really well. We have the largest one in the front room. At first, we cleaned the blades and the slider cleaner and it was great. Now, no matter what we do to keep it clean it crackles like crazy which is a real irritatant. When the Ionic Pro was advertised on the shopping channel, the saleswoman did not tell us that it would crackle like mad no matter what we did. We are trying to find replacement blades. Our last option is to clean the blades with soapy water before purchasing new blades. If this does not work, the crackling is too irritating to listen to. We do note that the blades get dirty much faster than the proposed two week period although at first, as this was how long it lasted before the crackling or light went on. The smaller one, in another location, is not doing this yet. I strongly believe that the promoter of this product should tell us exactly what to expect, what to do about the crackling! (from the other comments it obviously is a problem) We have used every method noted in the user manual to keep it clean so the only other option is to either buy new blades or try the soapy water that we did this morning. The replacement blades are hard to find and I think that the shopping channel should carry them (as they sold the product and promoted it) If you use the soapy water method, do not immerse (it says in the book) -- one has to wait twenty four hours to make certain that the components and blades are absolutely dry! We find this to be very inconvenient. As I said, it worked well at first -no crackling - and the blades got dirty but when we did the wiping cleaning method it worked for awhile. Now it starts cracking right away again, within twenty minutes. If we take the blades out and clean them again, there is not a spec of dirt! Constant cracking in one minute intervals is something most people do not want to listen to....I would not recommend this product until the issues are cleared up by the person who promoted this item. This should be addressed from the seller in a responsible manner, as it was not presented as a "crackling machine". Very disappointing as it does work well apart from the awful crackling. I hope that this can be cleared up for all of us irritated by the machine that was advertised not to make noise!

Very easy to clean & re-assemble. My husband & oldest daughter both have allergies and we've noticed they aren't sneezing or blowing their noses half as much as previously. Level of dust in the house has been reduced & cooking smells have diminished drastically as well. We have the largest unit in the upper livingroom & the smaller unit in the computer room. We haven't used the car unit though. This was a Showstopper purchase & worth every penny!

The amount of dust collected in such a short amount of time is surprising. We purchased this as a showstopper which included 3 units (i) large, (ii) medium, and (iii) car unit. I don't notice any difference with the car unit. The medium unit is my favourite and is used in our master bedroom where our dogs also sleep. The large unit is in our family room, and does a pretty good job but "hisses" like crazy. Very annoying and we might even call the company to get a replacement. Buy with a major credit card and you will double your warranty. Would I buy this product again? Probably not.

I love it! I bought it for smoke and it really works.

I put the small one in the bedroom and found that I was sleeping better. The air smells clean and fresh. I put the big one in the living room so whole house is clean and fresh air. I really like that it is quiet!! I clean them once a week with a damp paper towel and dry them and put them back together. I've had no problems with taking them apart or putting them back in. They click abit when they need cleaning but noise is gone when clean.
