This large hoard of five cent coins is a great way to build a collection, be able to get friends and family started on a collection, have numerous small historic gifts of Canada or have coins to trade with other collectors. The collection includes a total of 240 five cent coins dating from 1922 to 2012 plus 3 small five cent silver coins 1911-1920. The collection (comes unassembled) includes: Three different 5 Cent Silver coins 1911-1920, 40 George V 1922-1936, 80 George VI 1937-1952 and 120 Elizabeth II 1953-2012, for a total of 243 coins.
Three different Silver 5¢ Coins 1911-1920
Canada's earliest five cent coins dating up to 1921 were small silver coins about half the size of a dime. This collection includes three different five cent silver coins dated 1911-1920 from the reign of King George V.
40 George V Nickels 1922-1936
Canada's first "nickels" were introduced in 1922 during the reign of King George V. This collection will include 40 George V nickels dating from 1922-1936 in very good circulated condition. A good mix of dates will be included with some duplicates, although it will not include every date.
80 George VI Nickels 1937-1952
The familiar beaver design on Canadian nickels was introduced in the same year King George VI coins were issued. This collection includes 80 nickels dating from the era of King George VI. Most dates will be included with some duplicates. All of the commemorative and war issue dates 1942, 1943, 1944, 1945 and 1951 will be included.
120 Elizabeth II Nickels 1953-2012
Queen Elizabeth's coronation took place in Westminster Abbey on 2 June 1953, after the death of her father King George VI. This collection includes 75 nickels dating from 1953-1964. Most dates will be included with some duplicates.
