Joan Rivers Classic Soft Knit Jacket with 3 Pockets

The fabric and style of this suit is excellent quality. The size is slightly larger so you may have to go down a size. The middle of a couple of the buttons fell out but nothing a little glue cant fix in a hurry so no big deal.
I purchased the black and the tan Jacket and the black skirt so they mix and max perfectly.

I so loved the color of the periwinkle and the watermelon in this jacket that I ordered the 1X and the XL sizes as I really wanted to get a size that would fit me nicely. (The first time I ordered the 2X was way too big)
The periwinkle is not the bright color shown in the picture-it is a lighter tone-still really nice.
The 1X in the periwinkle fit comfortably but
the sleeves are too long and the double material at the wrist with the button is rather bulky.
I ordered the XL in the watermelon and somehow it felt bigger and not as comfy as the 1X in the periwinkle-the sleeves were longer even!!!
The knit material is not a smooth knit-it feels rather bulky even tho' the material is not a heavy material.
The buttons are nice and the front part of the jacket is a lovely touch.
I really wanted to like this jacket and I tried twice to get it to fit, but it still fits on the big side,is rather too warm for a suit jacket-it is more like an outdoor spring jacket.
The only thing I really like about this jacket are the colors-not enough of a reason to keep it.

I ordered the black jacket and found it very elegant, just the right size and with beautiful buttons. The sleeve length is perfect (one problem with clothes is that they often have very long sleeves). I am never wearing pants and all my skirts are long (34-35 inches), so I cannot get one of the matching bottoms. Although this is called a "knit" jacket, it is much more like a formal tailored jacket, but one made of very thick fabric suitable for outdoor coats. Although it may still not be suitable for outdoor use in really cold weather, this is not the jacket you need if you are looking for a thin suit jacket strictly for indoor use. I was happy I had it around this morning when the office was chilly, but I cannot keep it on all the time for no other purpose than to look more formal than in a blouse without a jacket, which is what I would have really preferred.

I bought this jacket in black and I wish I had ordered it in several other colours! The fabric doesn't wrinkle and the finishing touches are what you would expect to see in a much more expensive jacket. The fit is perfect and I particularly like the soft shape of the shoulder.
Don't hesitate to pick this up!

I have to say that I am new to Joan's fashions-having ordered once without good results-but I loved the color of the watermelon in this jacket so so much--so ordered it.
When it came today I was so disappointed --the size 2X fits a large porpoise-not just a large lady-the size was more like a 3X and more!
The 2X sizes with other fashions at the shopping channel all fit nicely, so I guess Joan's fashions are made rather big.
The color is a wow factor-a sort of bright coral- but the jacket is rather boxy in shape and even with a smaller size it would fall further down the hips for my short stature, thus making me look shorter.
The material is very light in weight and has a soft wool feel, but I fear that the material will become "picky" over time--for example a watch or bracelet "catching" on the fabric.
I so wanted to keep this but even with a smaller size it just would not suit at all.

Joan, I was totally disappointed as I was so excited to order the blazer as I have two of yours already. The blazer is cut differently than the two I have. Also the smell of the garment was totally overwhelming. I returned all three pieces of your line this time. Not sure if I will take the chance next time.

I bought this in blue with the matching skirt. It fits well, but I haven't worn it yet as it is a spring colour and weight. I'm sure it will look nice when I actually wear it.

I bought the jacket and skirt in khaki. For the money, I think that her finishing is superb and the value is great.
Her sizes are generous, so sometimes I order a size down 'just to see'.

It pains me to write a back review as I am a huge fan of Joan's lines but this one missed the boat. Horrible material, rough and cheap looking buttons. Sadly the two jackets and skirt went back.

I bought the khaki for spring. I do like the jacket but find that it "picks" easily. It might be better when we shed the winter coats but for now I have to use a stitch ripper to put the loose threads back into the weave. I ordered the jacket based on statements that it would not do this.

I would recommend the jacket if you don't mind having to do a some maintenance work. It is stylish, especially for a working woman who wants to look professional.
