Clever gadget, works well with our small camera. Note: requires a Phillips-Head screwdriver to open battery compartment to remove protective film. Shipped in too large a box with no packing. Ordered 19 March, shipped 26 March, signed for it 8 April. Requested Purolator for shipping, received USPS & Canada Post. TSC needs to list that it is shipped from US and you don't have a choice of shipping method. Downgraded to 3 stars because of poor service.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

The jury is still out on this one
At first I was going to return this as the main reason I got it was for the light for an unwired closet. I had tried several other battery operated lights previously. When this one arrived I couldn't remove the screws on the light to insert the batteries. Finally got a neighbor to help and with the batteries installed it provided better light than previous lights. Still not the greatest but...The tripod works fine for what it is intended...to steady small lightweight cameras.

Not robust enough for some cameras
This tripod is not sturdy enough for heavier cameras like the Rebel EOS SLR.

Terrific Little Frog
An ingenious idea to have flexible legs so it can be put in any position you want and have the light going any where you want. Very versatile and easy to use. A great idea !

The tripod can grip on almost everything. The light is very bright, about 200 Lux/Meter. Good for general lighting. Not too useful for video lighting, because of the hot spot.
