Purchased for a friend's daughter
By Hanna S.
from Wasaga Beach, ON
I purchased this for a friend who gave it to her daughter. During the ice storm and power outage of 2013-14 her daughter lost power and had to start her car to charge her cell phone. When she heard of this device she asked me to order it. I'm assuming that no news is good news and that the daughter loves it.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Did not work for me
By Grandma Okanagan

I am sorry to say that the Halo charger I received didn't function correctly. I read the enclosed instructions, carefully. Yes, I am one of those people who reads the entire manual before using an item! So, after charging this very pretty purple-coloured Halo, I hooked it up to one of my Samsung smartphones. To be specific, on our Samsung Galaxy Ace Q, which doesn't require a 'heavy duty' charge. However, after charging the Samsung Galaxy only two times with the Halo, I finally realized it wasn't fully charging the phone. It kept shutting itself off after only partially charging the Samsung. I used the Halo only with that particular phone.I monitored the Samsung Galaxy's battery power, as I used the Halo to charge it. I made sure the Halo was discharged, then fully charged the Halo prior to hooking it up to the Samsung. I even tried using the Halo, with the Samsung, when the phone's battery was only partially drained to approximately 50 percent. It appears, to me, that the Halo just didn't seem to be able to fully charge itself. I had charged it fully, as per instructions that came with the Halo. I checked to make sure it had been plugged into the electrical outlet for the correct amount of time. Plus, I checked to make sure the button you press on the end of the Halo was the correct colour, green, and that it was no longer flashing, which is supposed to indicate it has a full charge.Despite the correct initial charging procedure, the Halo kept shutting itself down before the Samsung phone was fully charged. After using the Halo, the phone's battery would indicate it had a charge of between 40 & 60 percent. If I checked the power status of the Halo, it would indicate it still had a charge left by showing a yellow light. Yet, when I attempted to re-start charging the phone with the Halo, then the Halo would indicate its charge was depleted. And, that is despite the Samsung battery previously showing between a 26 to 40 percent charge, before charging it with the Halo. And, on top of all this, I was not using the phone during the charging process with the Halo!!!Typically, I let this Samsung's battery go down to around 15 to 25 percent before plugging it in to and outlet, or portable power pack, to recharge the battery. However, I did not drain the phone's battery that much while trying to use the Halo.I decided to send this one back and declined an exchange. I included a note with the returned Halo alerting the warehouse that this item is most definitely defective. That way it won't be sent to another person. To those who've received a working Halo, I'm pleased you were lucky enough to get one. These really are a good weight and size. Easy to use, if working correctly, and pretty to look at.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Handy to have but not totally dependable
By Love Clothes
I purchased four of these, two of which I kept and the other two I gifted to those near to me.They have come in handy, for sure, especially in the recent Ontario ice storm.THE PROBLEM IS that they don't work for all electronics, even though the correct "connecting pin" is used. For example, the pin will work on my smart phone, but will not work on my bluetooth earpiece with the IDENTICAL connecting pin requirement. Will not work on latest iPhone.

I bought this unit in pink leopard in May 2013. I've already left a review providing the percentage of charges that the Halo gives my Samsung Galaxy S3. This is another review. Not once has it provided a full charge to my phone. Only once did it provide over 50% charge, and every other time less than 50% charge. Now after 7 months of use, the fully charged Halo isn't even giving me 25% charge. Yesterday, it took over an hour to get my phone from 36% to 49% before the Halo started to flash orange, which means it's almost dead. That's only 13%.I don't have a car so I can't charge my phone using a charger in the car when I'm on the go, so having something on hand in my purse that can do that for me is something that I'm attracted to.I am giving Halo another chance. I see that they have a new version out; a 2 pack that doubles as a flashlight.I'm hoping that the Halo I bought in May 2013 is just a dud, or that they have improved on the technology since my purchase. However, I will be putting it to vigorous testing over 30 days, and if it is no better than the one I currently have, I will be returning them.

Great little product! I have not had to use it much but have given it to others to use. Each of them say they need to get the Halo. It certainly has come in handy for my daughter and I plan on getting one for her.

Great in a jam
By Italian Chef
For those that forget to plug in their phone, this is what you need to get. I keep it in my purse and it has gotten me out of many jams. Now I get even my kids that ask if they can borrow it when they are out and their phones are dead. Its not to heavy in your bag and has adaptors for all kinds of electronics.

does it work with the iphone 5 c
cant find an adaptor in the package that works with my iphone 5c
Works well but leopard paint wore off
Purchased this product to use in a pinch for my kobo and iphone. When charging iphone I switch it to airplane mode and it charges fairly quickly. Unfortunately I ordered the gold leopard design and all the painted pattern is sticky and wears off on my hands when I touch it. NOT IMPRESSED. I would order it again in a heartbeat but NOT the painted pattern ones.
I love this! It actually charges my phone faster than using the outlet. It is small enough to carry in my purse and is ready to use whenever I need it. With 3 different attachments I don't have to go detangle 10 different cords to find the one I am looking for.
