This 2013 collector issue pure silver proof dollar commemorates the 100th Anniversary of the Canadian Arctic Expedition of 1913-1918. The design features three men aboard a dogsled. A stylized image of a compass can be seen in the background. As a pure silver coin, this item is GST/HST exempt. In 1913, an international crew called the Canadian Arctic Expedition (CAE), set off for Canada's High Arctic. Their findings helped better define Canada's northern boundaries and contributed to Canada's scientific, social and cultural knowledge of both the Arctic of the people who inhabit the area.
