This premium quality collection includes one of each type of coin in circulation in Newfoundland when Newfoundland joined Canadian Confederation in 1949. Six different denominations are included, with 5 of the six being struck in .925 sterling silver. All six denominations 1¢, 5¢, 10¢, 20¢, 25¢ and 50¢ will be in significantly higher grade condition than most surviving examples, and will be presented in a mahogany finish case. Most of these coins were produced for Newfoundland by the Royal Canadian Mint.  

After Newfoundland joined confederation, all Newfoundland coinage became legal tender currency of Canada, and some coins circulated for a brief time across the country. With much lower mintages than regular Canadian coin issues from the same era, the coins of pre-confederation Newfoundland can be extremely challenging to collect.
