This 1992 proof-like set includes all six denominations from the cent through to the loon dollar. The coins are specially struck for collectors using highly polished dies and slow moving coin presses. The result is that the coins have a near perfect mirror finish which is significantly different from the coins
struck for circulation.
1992 is one of the most sought after years for modern Canadian proof-like coins. All of the coins in this set celebrate the 125th anniversary of Canadian Confederation with a double date 1867-1992. The caribou quarter is the most sought after coin in this set. Since 12 different commemorative quarters were issued in this year, no caribou quarters were issued for circulation. This set is one of the few places where collectors can obtain a low mintage 1992 caribou quarter.
A low mintage fifty cent coin is also included featuring the Canadian Coat-of-arms. The back of the coin bears the diademed portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. This coin saw extremely limited circulation and was produced in very small quantities in comparison to other denominations.
This complete high quality coin set comes presented in a custom mahogany finish display case.
