In this beautiful piece from Lladró, the sculptor has captured the strong effort of the ballerina to hold her position - especially on her her face, arms, neck, and back. Remarkable is the soft pink painting on the pleats of the skirts, to resemble the real tulle material as well as its shadows. The combination of the long pleated skirt with the ballet position recalls the grace and beauty of an open fan. Figurines are attached to lacquered wooden base to confer stability to the piece.
