Great Birthday Gift for Hubby

By Liz

I bought this signed book for my husband to go along with the Paderno Everyday Pan. When he received it, he couldn't wait to go through and start picking out some recipes. Tonight we are having some chicken wings. I will be looking for more of his books, happy hubby keeps me out of the kitchen.

A cookbook for every day use

All Star Reviewer

Would recommend this cookbook in a heart beat! Recipes are not too complicated and use items you would have on hand. Pictures are so great which make you want to try them!!! In most cookbooks it's hard to find several recipes that you would like to try. Not the case here - it will be well used in my home.
Enjoy cooking folks!

Anticipating another user-friendly book

By English Major from Nova Scotia

from Bridgewater, Nova Scotia

I know Michael's latest offering will be a great addition to my kitchen. Can't wait to start using his recipes. I have a criticism, however, about TSC's printed info re this book. RECIPE is how the word is spelled. I feel professionalism is lacking in these details from a national station. There are numerous of these instances that I see on a very regular basis. I would highly recommend Michael's books to everyone.

Nice recipes

Real nice recipe book using mostly every day ingredients and I am looking forward to making some of them. I like that there is a picture for each recipe but I am taking a star off because the on air recipe for the chicken stew and dumplings is NOT in this book that they kept saying was in the book. I really wanted to make that recipe and was the main reason I bought the book so I am a bit disappointed.

Somewhat disappointed

This is a practical recipe book with plenty of useful info. to prepare nutritious family meals from ingredients that are easily obtainable if not already in our kitchens. I was looking forward to receiving the recipes displayed during the Paderno skillet presentation. Since those recipes were not featured I returned the book. It would be unfair to say I would not recommend it but if you expect to find the delectable recipes that were demonstrated on T.V. you will be disappointed.

Average - not at all what I expected!

I'd like this review to be constructive. For years I've enjoyed Michael's broadcasts. I especially like his natural comfortable style in the kitchen preparing meals without a recipe and his family so one can imagine how excited I was to receive this book. I'm an experienced cook of many years. I've now tried 5 of his recipes as written and I can honestly say, with no harm meant, that I've not cared for at least 2 of them and the remaining 3 were ok, just ok and not what I consider to be delicious. I've pretty much decided that I'll not be making these again unless I make significant changes to them. While the book does contain a nice variety of recipes, easily found ingredients and is a simple read, I think it lends itself more to a beginner cook. Unfortunately, I don't share the enthusiasm Michael portrays in this edition and I'm now reluctant to order another release of his. I also think recipe books should provide a glimpse of what to expect in recipes so that one isn't stuck with only a handful of recipes which are appealing. I will continue to watch Michael's shows as I appreciate his style and tips in the kitchen but I doubt I'll purchase more of his releases. I love and cook foods of many countries and I'm hoping that my experience with this book isn't an indication that my sense of taste is changing. I will have to pay closer attention to that.

Not as I expected

By Gloria

I received my cookbook yesterday and I am expecting more recipes outline in the book. I am planning to return the book today. Maybe it will be useful to others but not as I expected.
