A classic tradition, these naturalizing yellow daffodils are fantastic as cut flowers or left alone to cover the woodland garden. Traditions are a very good thing! These impressive, single stemmed flowers have trumpets that are as long as, or longer than the flower petals. Plant them in bunches for best effect. 'Daffodil' is a common term used to describe Narcissi varieties that bear the traditional large trumpets and flowers. They can come in a multitude of colours ranging from yellow to orange and even white but they're known for their sturdiness, hardiness and longevity!
Plant your Daffodils in an area with full sun or in semi-shade. Well-drained soil is essential but other than that they are relatively easy to grow and require minimal maintenance. Allow the foliage to die back naturally and remove it only when it has completely yellowed. This will allow the bulb to store enough energy for next year's flower. They do fine with a minimum of watering and they'll grow in sandy to loamy soil and will tolerate acid to alkaline conditions. Daffodils multiply quickly and will flower for many years to come!
