The Dyson DC37 Turbinehead Animal Canister is a canister vacuum with Radial Root Cyclone™ technology remodeled to maximize suction power. The compact lightweight and maneuverable machine turns on a dime for greater control and easily switches from carpets to floor with the push of a button. Its mini turbine head cleans and removes pet hair and dirt from tight spaces such as upholstery, stairs and even in the car. Simply wrap the nozzle to store it away, and since it is outfitted with a hygienic bin, there is no need to ever touch the dirt when emptying. This vacuum is certified asthma and allergy friendly, ensuring a clean breathing experience after use and engineered for reduced noise levels.

• Engineered for reduced noise levels: essential components are housed within the acoustically treated ball
• Certified asthma and allergy friendly
• Tangle-free Turbine tool: The only turbine tool that doesn't tangle. It releases more hair straight into the bin than any other mini turbine tool
• Groom tool: Captures allergens during grooming. Suitable for medium or long haired dogs
• Stiff bristle brush: Stiff bristles remove ground-in and stubborn dirt
• Articulating hard floor tool: It pivots 180° and has an ultra-slim profile to reach into the awkward gaps between cupboards and units more easily

I love my Dyson

By a paintnut

from Victoria, BC

I have had my vacuum for over a year and I love it. The power is strong, does well on carpets but I wouldn't think of using the beater bars over the wood floors. I change to the low rise floor attachment so I can get under the furniture. I have a pursian cat and a small long hair dog so I get lots of hair. Yes the hair gets tangled around the power bar but I just pull it off - its not a big issue. This canister doesn't chew up the corners of my walls the way my built-in did. I find it easy to empty and store. This Dyson suits my needs perfectly.

Love this

By anniegale

After many years of purchasing vacs that claimed great things and never having them live up to their statements. I bought this Dyson and have now had it five months and it is fantastic. We have long haired women in the house all the time and you should see the amount of hair it pics up. Animal hair no problem and I have less dust in the house. Only have great things to say and the easy pay really worked as I could have an expensive item and have it paid in a short time. AMAZING!!!!

Mixed feelings about this product

By Shopping Queen

from Campbell's Bay, Quebec

I had wanted a dyson for years and years and finally bit the bullet and shelled out the cash. I was so excited when it arrived and brought it home and tried all the attachments. It came with a bundle on the last show stopper. My first disappointment came when the beater bar did not transition smoothly from carpet to hardwood floors as demonstrated.....nor would I use it on hardwood floors for fear of damage to my floors. One must utilize the proper attachment and change it out. As for use on area rugs, the suction is so strong that the rugs lift and get all bunched up and you can only use the beater bar in one direction, no fluid back and forth motion will work. The wand and all the attachments are made of plastic and seems cheap. The grip for the handle on the wand is very uncomfortable and does not feel natural in your hand and is actually awkward. I am a short person and find the wand to be short, so for a taller person this would be very frustrating and uncomfortable to maneuver. Long hairs tangle in the beater bar and it is very difficult to remove. This canister model is not that graceful on the stairs and is still clumsy and awkward.
***Please note if this product arrives and you did not see the TV demonstration you would be totally lost and not have a clue how to put it together, how to empty the canister or clean the filter and dyson does not offer a guide or manual with this product for it's use for the vacuum or any attachments.

***I think it is totally overrated and overpriced.

poor performance

I bought motorhead Dyson and I has been nothing but problems.Needs constant cleaning and emptying after every vacuuming. It is next to impossible to get trough crevices to remove all the dust.It is such a waste of money.Nothing can bit quality of Miele vacuum cleaner. Dyson needs much more improvements in quality.I speek also from experience of my friends and family members who purchased Dyson and feel let down.

Not worth the money.

I have now had to have parts repaired or replaced 4 times! I don't have the turbine power head, but I really don't think it would matter. This is NOT good for hardwood floors. It left little wheel marks. Then I was told to use the hard floor dusting tool, which means I have to pick the dog fur off that every few minutes. HUGE disappointment.

not good for dog hair

By shop lady

having owned the first dyson when it came out(upright)years ago and loving it(but)i purchased this "animal canister"mainly for getting under the beds and also picking up dog hair easier though the other one does as well,as soon as it arrived used it and was extremely disappointed in its ability to pick up dog hair as i had more hair stuck all over the vacuum than in the bin,i figured maybe because its just brand new and after a few times of using it there wouldn't be so much static,i was wrong,to this day I'm still having to turn it off and take all the hair off vac, have tried every tool it came with hoping one of them would be better at grabbing the hair to no avail, only tool that worked was the little stiff brush if you sit on carpet going over an area quite a few times and even at that you have to pick out hairs with your fingers, the bigger tools are practically useless to get the hair, unless getting some of it is good enough for you, what i find a bit funny(by a bit funny i mean hilarious) is the demonstrations showing it taking the hair off carpet yet you see that the hair is sitting on top of the carpet unlike what really happens in real life(dug into the carpet) unless you walk behind the dog/s 24/7 to vacuum after every step, not saying it doesn't pick up hair as it does but it won't get all of it,i have to lug my old upright up and use it afterwards to finish,if you are looking to purchase this hoping it picks up the hair better than the one you have now, save your money or try the shark(like i should have)also the demo showing the suction power is a bit of a joke too,one would hope it wouldnt lose since if you notice they show when the bin is less than half full, one would hope at the price of a dyson (showstopper or not) it wouldn't lose suction after two cups of popcorn kernels,if you want something because of the name(dyson)then this is for you but if you actually want it to do the job, this isn't,overhyped and overpriced for what it does,i will say they do last a long time as the first model i own is still going strong, maybe the newer models may work better for dog hair but i'll never know as this is the last dyson i purchase,I'm only giving it two stars because something that has animal in title should be picking up a lot more hair than this thing does and when i clean i like it to be exactly that... clean,,not a half done job, also hopefully they fix the static issue its really beyond bad

Overpriced Junk

from Alberta

All Star Reviewer

What can I say? This Dyson "Animal" vacuum is no match for an animal of the Great Pyrenees variety. I constantly (seriously, multiple times EVERY time I vacuum!) have to turn off the vacuum to unplug my dog's hair from SOMEWHERE in the vacuum. I have even had to take the darn thing apart so many times, it's not even funny. What a pain it is having to open the vacuum with a screwdriver to get at the hair that is stuck in the intake after the hose and before the canister... that narrow opening that you CANNOT reach simply using your fingers or even a pair of pliers (I've tried). By far the most annoying vacuum I have ever used. If you too have a big dog who sheds every day like my dog, don't get this vacuum. Luckily, most of my house is not carpeted, so a broom can still get the job done. It would just be nice to have a vacuum that makes cleaning up after my furry friend faster and easier. The one star I'm giving is for suction (when it's not plugged!) and for the mini, tangle-free turbine power head. Otherwise, just a very, very poorly designed vacuum. The Dyson Animal will probably clean up bird feathers and cat hair no problem, but I wouldn't guarantee that either.
