Engagement Ring!

By Tara

from Thornhill, Ontario

Gold Reviewer

Yes, this is my engagement ring and I love it to bits! However, the white sapphires do not sparkle but are cloudy and the bottom of the shank has dulled and actually dented/chipped. The rubies however are stunning.

glowing rubies

By N.

from Toronto,Ontario

Gold Reviewer

I have other ruby rings and one that is beautifully red and velvety. However, I prefer this generations 1912 ring as the rubies really glow. The only thing I dislike in this ring is that the undergallery covers most of the stones so it would not be easy to clean the back of the stones when dirt would be accumulating. I really would like to rate this 4.5. However since I have to choose between 4 and 5, then I'll choose 4.

WHAT A BEAUTY!

By ringlover

I wear this ring everyday and that says a lot as I have MANY. I've had it a week and i cannot stop looking at the delicious color of the rubies. I got mine in rhodium and I love the contrast of white and red. In addition to its beauty, it is also very comfortable to wear.

Wonderful color!! Love this ruby ring!

By slamgal

I will wear this ring every day. Having always wanted a ruby ring I have viewed several in high end jewellery stores, and been advised a good ruby should be the color of a drop of pigeon's blood! I saw some like that selling at 4 figures!
This ring has a beautiful color, I cannot see any inclusions, it fits perfectly and I love it. It will be worn every day except to the beach!and love it also.

Loved it so much...

By Halifax shopper

I loved this ring so much that I had it recreated in 14K WG (true white with exact engraving and all) and good SI-1/G diamonds from an old cluster from the 80's which was no longer worn. it is an exact copy (minus the 1912 logo of course) and it is stunning. Cost a bit to do, but really worth it. My jeweller says that the rubies are far from perfect, but have really good cut and depth of colour, and polish and very well matched, which in this case is even more important. Apparently it's really hard to find any good rubies today. I think the fact that they are not perfect, adds to their beauty. Sent away for an independent appraisal and returned stating 6 x 2.5 mm and 12 x 2mm SI/G diamonds, = 0.45 ctw, and 5.8 g 14K gold, and 1.74 ct of Bob's rubies of course, replacement value $5400.00 + HST.

I LOVE THIS RING!!!!!

By Kira a torricelumn girl since 2003!!!!

I purchased this as a Showstopper last summer . I can not believe that it is still in stock .
The rubies are just a beautiful vibrant cherry red color , that just sparkle , they are beautifully matched . I chose the rhodium plated ring , I love the setting ,while it is ornate , it has a very nice profile on the hand and is extremely comfortable which to me is as important as is it's beauty!!!This would make an exquisite ENAGAGEMENT RING!!!!I wear this ring with some of my more expensive jewellery that are in white gold and it doesn't look out of place , it shines just a bright as pieces that cost several hundreds more. Truthfully when I wear this ring I really forget that it is not GOLD , and I really have a difficult time not constantly looking at those stunning rubies. I purchased this for my 34 wedding anniversary ..and almost one year later ....I just really love this ring . Thanks Bob and TSC for this beautiful , beautiful ruby ring !!!!

Just a beautiful ring

By Judy

I purchased both the rhodium and gold-plated versions of this ring. I am inclined to believe that the rhodium version of the ring has a ruby that is slightly lighter in color than the gold-plated version. Perhaps the rubies were cut from a different larger stone? Despite this minor differnce, I like the uniqueness of the ring. Since these are genuine rubies, I am more than satisfied with this ring.

Bought this ring in rose plate. Was very disappointed with finish and the rubies themselevs. Re-ordered in rhodium plate. Stunning in shimmering white metal, and the rubies are as others said, deep red saturation, perfectly matched and perfectly polished and sparkling from every angle, WOW!!!

Very Pretty Ring

By CARRIE

from CALGARY

Silver Reviewer

The rhodium plated ring looks just like white gold - very nice finishing and decoration.

Some of the othere have said that the ring feels rough - I don't think this is the millgraining; it is probably the prongs on the white sapphires on the shank.

This does not seem to be a fault of manufacture to me; it is a natural result of having the prongs/stones there. It is not unduly uncomforatable to me.

The rubies are a very nice colour, and are very clear (not opaque at all). I can see quite a few inclusions in very strong sunlight, but in 95% of lighting situations you would see none.

Am glad to finally have a birthstone ring with decent sized natural stones.
