1993 Proof Set in Custom Mahogany Finish Case

The coins in this 1993 set are "Proof" quality, the finest coins minted and struck by the Royal Canadian Mint.  They are all double struck coins produced from specially prepared dies.  The fields (that is, the flat background areas on the coins) have a bright deep mirror finish, while the design and portrait of the Queen have a white frosted finish.  This extremely attractive effect is sometimes referred to as a "cameo proof", and can only be obtained in the Proof Sets.   

The year 1993 marked the 100th Anniversary of the Stanley Cup, first presented during the 1892-93 season to the Montreal Amateur Athletic Association team by Lord Stanley.

Six denomination coins are included in this set- one cent, five cents, ten cents, twenty five cents, fifty cents and one dollar.  The fifty cent coin included features the Canadian Coat-of-arms.  The set includes the Loon dollar.
