1987-1997 Proof Sterling Silver Loon Dollar

This 1987–1997 proof sterling silver dollar was issued to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the loon dollar. Canadian artist Jean-Luc Grondin chose to portray the loon in that dramatic moment of simple primitive power just before flight. The back bears the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Dora de Pédery-Hunt.
