ABOUT ANNE-MARIE SWEENEY

Growing up in Southern Ontario, Anne-Marie had an idyllic childhood participating in many extra-circular activities including figure skating, swimming, singing, guitar, gymnastics, dancing and modelling — but the one activity that endured was figure skating. Anne-Marie also won numerous awards and medals including Miss Toronto in 1983 and Mrs. Canada in 1990.

After retiring from figure skating, she ventured into radio as a D.J. and announcer at numerous stations in Southern Ontario — Energy 108, Virgin Radio, The Wolf 101.5, and Jewel 88.5. She was also a national Anchor at the Weather Network for 12 years.

At the age of 40, Anne-Marie was ready for another adventure and enrolled in Ryerson University's prestigious journalism program. For the next four years, she worked full-time during the evening and attended school during the day. Graduating with honours is one of Anne-Marie proudest moments. It demonstrated that anything's possible and her achievements were an inspiration to those around her. Her determination paid off when she landed a producer gig in the talk show department at Sun News.

Today, as a TSC host, Anne-Marie loves that every day at TSC is different. Aside from meeting new people and learning about amazing products, Anne-Marie is thrilled to be involved in helping make designers and entrepreneurs' dreams come true — people who have dedicated their lives to designing and creating items that other people will love.

When not working, Anne-Marie loves to socialize, dance, travel and attend the theater and opera. She's also very active and spends her down-time biking, swimming, walking, and of course — figure skating!
