Tell Your Friends
What it is:
The Tanda Zap combines the same powerful blue light technology used by dermatologists with sonic vibration and gentle warming to help clear or fade mild to moderate acne blemishes. Blue LED light has been proven to kill acne-causing bacteria, helping to clear existing blemishes and to help prevent future breakouts. It's designed to fit not only your pocket, but your lifestyle too, and that means, no matter where you are, or when it is, a little acne's not going to come between you and your life.

Who it is for:
This device is gentle enough to be used on all skin types and tones.

What it does:
If you feel a pimple coming on, just zap it and stay social. The Zap uses a combination of powerful blue light with sonic vibration and gentle warming to help achieve skin clearing results. This device helps to clear existing breakouts and blemishes without causing irritation, dryness or redness, and helps to prevent future breakouts, overall helping to improve your skin condition. The blue light works by producing oxygen singlets that attach to the acne-causing bacteria, helping to cause the bacteria to self-destruct. Sonic vibration helps increase microcirculation to help reduce swelling and inflammation, while agitating the skin in order to help expose more of the bacteria to the light. A gentle warming, which is produced by the light energy, helps to open pores, allowing the light to reach more bacteria.

They've Built A Better Mousetrap!

By Fab4gal

I loved the 1st Tanda Zap so much so that I wanted to purchase this newer, improved version called the Tanda Zap Power!!

In my previous review for the earlier model Tanda Zap I explained that although the directions are to use the device for a 2 minute treatment up to 3 times a day on an area of concern, I went one better. I discovered that if I treated an area up to 4 times in a row (with each session being 2 minutes) and carrying on doing that 2-3 times a day, that it made a marked improvement on the area, thus speeding up the results to where whatever was there in most cases was gone the very next day. After listening to the rep discussing acne medications, I also began incorporating my Serious Skin Care Clarifying Treatment (gel) which contains Salicylic Acid into the mix. I just put the gel on and then do my treatments. It's as though the gel penetrates moreso. Either way, you're golden if you use the Tanda...

The device gives off a slight vibration when it's up against your skin and because I elect to do up to 4 consecutive treatments at once, I notice a slight warming BUT it's a very comfortable feeling and almost soothing...

What I like about this newer version is the fact that I'm not having to purchase batteries because it comes with an adapter.

The older model is supposed to be good for about 1000 zaps and then you need to replace it. In a case like that it's hard to judge how many zaps you've used or if you're nearing the 1000 mark point. With this newer model, you don't have that same concern because it's my understanding from what I've read about this product is that this newer model doesn't have the 1000 zap maximum on it.

I like that when your 2 minute session is done, it beeps (the older model just shut off) so anyhow, it lets you know that you've completed two minutes so that if you want to move onto a different area, you can OR you can just continue to blast the same area a few more times. The head or treatment area appears to be ever so slightly a wee bit smaller than the previous version but I find it's easier to get right into those intrusive areas like the side of your nose etc...the older model kind of flared out so perhaps that's why it seems slightly bigger. The newer model has a bit of a neck to it so it's easier to manoeuver in tighter spots. If you have a look at both Tanda models to compare them, you'll see right away what I mean.

Also there is a band with bars of light to show you how charged it is so you can tell when you need to recharge it, which I haven't had to do yet...

I still have my previous Tanda Zap and although I haven't used it since I got the newer model, I refuse to part with it.

You won't be sorry if you buy it! Just remember that persistence is the key!

handy dandy little device

I ordered both the battery operated Tanda Zap and this one. This one is, by far, my favourite. No need to mess around with buying or changing batteries as with the previous model. It can be charged via USB or wall outlet, and has the same portability. Pretty blue battery indicator lights tell you when it needs charging. This model also has a top to protect the blue light contact surface from damage and dust/dirt. So I am commenting primarily on design and ease of use at this point. I'm not really sure about the science behind this device. If my breakouts are not caused by acne bacteria, will it still kill whatever bacteria is responsible? I tried it on an itchy spider bite. It definitely promotes drainage. I have not experienced any over-night miracles though.
